What is Impact 100?
In addition to the $100,000 grant, Impact 100 also gives out smaller gifts to the other three finalists they select each year. Since its inaugural year 13 years ago, Impact 100 has granted more than $1.7 million to nonprofits across our region. Recipient nonprofits use the grant to deepen their impact and grow their network of supporters. To learn more about Impact 100, click here. Our 2025 Winner
Impact 100 awarded local nonprofit People’s Housing+, Inc. (PH+) with the $100,000 transformative grant on November 17. PH+ resulted from the strategic merger, funded and facilitated by the Greater New Orleans Foundation, of three New Orleans-based community development organizations, established to achieve greater scale and impact with an unabashed focus on advancing racial equity in community development. PH+ advocates for permanent housing affordability, housing subsidies, and strategies to combat displacement.
They will use the award to create the People’s Housing+ Cares Emergency Loan Fund, available to their network of homeowners in the form of a 0% interest loan, with patient repayment terms. This can cover insurance increases or a deductible after a storm, medical bills, car repair or any other unexpected financial hardship. With an average loan size of $2,500, PH+ can serve 40 families at a time. When loans are repaid, those funds are available to help the next family, which means the $100,0000 Impact 100 grant will be evergreen and serve families in perpetuity.
